Chainsaws & Jelly | July Muse

The muse of July is our good friend, Dalilia Navarro. A beautiful, creative, and smart woman from Belleville, NJ. She loves creepy things just as much as we do. For the make-up, I brought dark and creepy for the 1st look and a fun, brighter disposition in the 2nd look.

Photography by Efrain Mercado (Eggs). Enjoy and please let us know how we are doing! We'd love to hear from our readers. Leave us a comment or two or four. Happy 4th of July.

The first look we did was more of a creepier version. What are your darkest fears?
I'm not really fearful of too much, but I'd have to say that my darkest fear is to be completely alone. Not in the "single" sense, I'm talking about no family, no friends... When I was in Catholic school, a nun once told us that hell is whatever your worst fear is and I envisioned my self alone on some dark, gray desert, a little dramatic for a second-grader, I know..but that's the scene I've gotten in my head ever since.

You're a creative mind and it fascinates me that you can make almost anything! What keeps your creativity alive?
I get a great deal of my inspiration from my family and my heritage, those are two things that are with me wherever I go no matter what.

Aside from art, you're really big into music. What are you currently listening to?
I listen to everything. Currently, I'm listening to Esmeralda Spalding, and Quadron...they've been on heavy rotation lately. I also love a lot of Jersey artists, we have a crazy hip hop scene that a lot of people don't know about.

How was it working at Atlanta Records?
I've been working in the music industry since I was 15. I started as an engineer and moved from there. I've learned so much from working at a major label. I definitely know what they're looking for in terms of signing artists. I also know how to push a project. Now, my focus is Licensing, but working in A&R definitely taught me so much.

What did you enjoy most about this photoshoot?
My favorite part about this shoot was spending time with friends. We had a lot of laughs and She has the best energy. I had a great time!
