Alternative was BEFORE American Apparel, don't get it twisted. They also have an eco-friendly line, Alternative Earth. Word. They cater to men, women, and kids. I'm loving the collections. Simple, comfy, and that's how I like it. Prices are a bit steep but I say wait for the sale. Here are my comfy picks for all seasons.

Actually you're incorrect. American Apparel was around since the 80's, but only in the recent years has it become the trendsetter it is today. Alternative Apparel always been on point.
hey branded. american apparel was founded in 1989 and it was just a name where the founder, charney started experimenting. it was until 1997 they started manufacturing in LA. (this is all what i've read so it can be wrong, i'm just taking it from the research i did.)
and alternative started in '95. and yes they have always been on point :)
